The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie's producers had better cast the film ASAP. Rumor has it that even their announcement of the latest contender for the titular Christian Grey role--Gossip Girl star, Chace Crawford--is leaving the fans feeling "bored." It seems people are getting tired of waiting to see who will snag the role. The seemingly interminable list of contenders isn't so intriguing anymore. It's just annoying. They want to see the movie already--not just read about the latest contender.
Be that as it may, Chace Crawford has nevertheless appeared on the 50 Shades of Grey radar as the new contender on the block. Crawford who was recently described as "gorgeous and polished as ever on the red carpet for the October 23 Maison Martin Margiela with H&M Global Launch Event on," plays Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl. Nate has been, in turn, described as "the perfect Golden Boy of the Upper East Side, always being fought over by the prominent female characters." Crawford has appeared on Gossip Girl for six seasons.
According to the Examiner, as reported on Books & Review, Chace "portrays a very wealthy and confidant character on the show, which is very similar to Christian Grey. Chace also has some attributes that make him just right for the role, including piercing blue eyes, a 6 foot stature and already toned physique."
In addition to being the right age to play Grey, Chace has been mentioned a few times in connection with the project. Cosmopolitan listed him as one of its "9 Guys Who Should Play Christian Grey." He was also included in IMDb's list of "My Christian Grey Nominees." While he's hardly a fan favorite on the level of Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, Robert Pattinson, or the desperately sought after Ryan Gosling, he obviously has a following. Or as Cosmo readers put it, "we NEED our Chace fix. Yes please!"
So, there you have it. Do you think Chace Crawford would make a good kinky billionaire in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey?
