Because Kim Kardashian is still legally married to Kris Humphries, the Kardashian-Jenners have to wait a while to exploit her inevitable wedding to Kanye West for money and ratings. So until that can happen, they're turning to Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick to fill the void.
According to In Touch (via Radar Online), momager Kris Jenner "is pushing the couple to the altar, in the belief that another Kardashian wedding would make for great ratings."
"[Kris] runs the family empire and knows it would be good for business so she is pressuring Kourtney to marry Scott," a "source" dishes to the mag. "Even though Kim made the stupid mistake of marrying Kris Humphries and it didn't last more than 72 days, Kris thinks viewers want to see Kourtney and Scott get married. The reality show must succeed."
Kris is planning on doing something just for publicity? Shocking! Apparently she didn't learn any lessons from the PR debacle after the last time a Kardashian staged an obviously phony wedding -- and according to In Touch, it doesn't sound like Kourtney did, either.
"The last thing Kourtney needs is a circus-like wedding and bad marriage like Kim," a "family insider" tells In Touch. "It's actually really gross. It's a negotiation. Love has nothing to do with it. And Scott is such a jerk."
It's hilarious that In Touch's sources (if they exist, which, since this is In Touch, is dubious) continually throw Kim under the bus for being a dumb, greedy famewhore, but it's not like she doesn't deserve it.
At any rate, Kourtney and Scott have been together a long time and have two kids together, so at the very least, since neither one would likely file for divorce after just 72 days of marriage, the Kardashian-Jenners wouldn't have to worry about another post-wedding public backlash. But do people care enough about Kourtney and Scott for a televised wedding to be the publicity/financial windfall that Kris seems to think it would be? It obviously wouldn't make $18 million like Kim's wedding reportedly did, but they might consider anything better than nothing. And at this point -- since Kourtney's likely not getting pregnant again anytime soon, Kim can't legally marry Kanye and Khloe Kardashian has reportedly put off starting a family with Lamar Odom while she concentrates on her X Factor gig -- they're running out of storylines for their "reality" shows. So even though Gossip Cop has debunked In Touch's report, since you can't put anything past this family, there's a really good chance Kris is putting pressure on Kourtney and Scott to marry. But who knows if they'll actually do it.
What do you think? Is Kris Jenner pressuring Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick to marry? Would their marriage last longer than 72 days? Sound off in the comments!
