Taylor Swift is probably wishing for the good old days when the worst thing that happened to her during an awards show was being rudely interrupted by Kanye West. Alas, that was then and this is now. On November 1, Pearl Pureheart was savagely dissed by CMA hosts, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Paisley and Underwood slammed Swift with jokes about her affair with and split from Conor Kennedy. She was also savagely dissed about her penchant for writing songs about her exes. Ouch.
The evening began innocently enough with Paisley and Underwood shooting the breeze about 2012's big sports trades. Alas, things went downhill from there—and quickly.
"The biggest trade of the year was in the Kennedy family," Brad laughed. "It was the Kennedy's trading Arnold Schwarzenegger for Taylor Swift."
The dissing duo went on to attack La Swift's hit song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which was rumored to have been written about her ex beau, Jake Gyllenhaal.
"Will she write a song about this break up?" they sneered. "Nah."
Exactly how they can be so sure of that is unknown. Whatever.
So far, there's been no reaction from La Swift or her rep about Underwood's and Paisley's uncomfortably personal comments at the CMAs. But give her time. Who knows? Underwood and Paisley may wind up in a new Swift song very soon. Stranger things have happened.
