A mother herself, there's little supermodel Heidi Klum won't do for children. That includes exposing herself without any makeup.
Thirty-nine-year-old Heidi didn't shy away from letting the world see the real her recently. The lovely German model put it all out there in a photo shoot for Children in Need. Wearing nothing but a tiny bear claw tattoo on her cheek, she actually never looked more beautiful.
The photo was done to promote the British organization, which raises funds for disadvantage youth. It also encourages women not to be ashamed of their natural beauty; something Heidi clearly isn't.
"I am so proud to be taking part in this year's BBC Children in Need Bear-Faced campaign," said Klum. "Having worked in the fashion industry for a number of years, I'm a firm believer of encouraging women's empowerment," she noted. "...What better way to do so than (by) supporting such a fantastic charity."
Heidi's right on all counts. Promotion of artificial beauty by all forms of media is tearing apart the confidence of women all over the world. It's pushing young women into dangerous diets and toward unnecessary plastic surgery in an effort to help them meet the standards set by society of what is considered beautiful. Those who cannot are subjected to bullying and forced to feel ashamed of who they are. It's time for a change.
Thanks, Heidi Klum, for leading the way while also raising money for children who need help. Bravo!
