Pippa Middleton has suffered some pretty harsh criticism for her book, Celebrate. There is no doubt it is not exactly a literary work of art, but is it really that bad? Pippa is not about to sit back and let her book get trashed by critics. She is fighting back and defending her fluffy party book.
It may be a bit banal, but apparently, that is what she was going for. She explains her simplistic book in The Telegraph, "I could have written a book that showcased the most extravagant or elaborate of occasions—after all, I spent three years working for an events company planning parties—but I wanted to produce something that was achievable; something that people would have on their shelves for years; something that was not too fussy—just simple and comforting."
See, there is a reason she kept it rather basic. It is for all those average people out there who would not be able to follow any difficult recipes or those with ingredients that would cost a small fortune. Poor Pippa bares her literary soul and adds, "Celebrate, my book on entertaining, has been a labour of love. I have put my heart and soul into it, obsessing over every detail." Unfortunately, her baby has not pleased most of the staunchest critics. Will they change their minds after getting a little insight?
Pippa Middleton wasn't trying to create something that average folks would not be keen to try. Obviously, her target audience was the people on budgets who want to add a little pizzazz to their parties without going overboard. Clearly, it is not a book for everyone. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
