Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have recently been in Twilight mode, promoting the final installation of the film saga, Breaking Dawn-Part 2. But Stewart was flying solo on Saturday night, Nov. 3, when the actress stepped out sans Robert Pattinson to support her other movie of the moment, On the Road, at the 2012 AFI Fest at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. And while she may have not been in vampire mode, she definitely channeled her goth side for the screening.
Stewart stunned on the red carpet with her strong smoky eye, a smoldering look rendered in shadowy oxblood and mauve hues. A bold crimson lip added more impact, especially when played against Stewart's alabaster skin. It was a powerful—and fashionably dark—look for the starlet who seems to be emerging stronger than ever since her cheating scandal.
The actress also showed she's still quite the style darling—when she wants to be—as she flaunted a trendsetting, menswear-inspired ensemble from Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere. She's one of the few who can pull off high-waisted trousers and a midriff-baring, corset-like top.
But Robert Pattinson didn't keep his distance from his gothic-glam girlfriend the entire time; the couple was spotted celebrating at an after party later that evening.
Of her role in On the Road, Kristen Stewart recently admitted she's had her eye on it for some time, as Just Jared reports. "I was 14 or 15 when I first met [director] Walter Salles. I spoke to him when I was 17, I think I may have shot the first Twilight, I'm not sure... It's been a long time coming," she said. "I don't know how I was able to get around that kind of energy, but to convey that I loved this thing in the way [Salles] does and as soon as you get around that energy it passes between you, nothing really needs to be said. I got the job on the spot, and I drove away just vibrating..."
