Amongst the many celebrities celebrating President Obama's re-election is royalty: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William and Kate Middleton have apparently reached out to the Obamas to tell him congrats.
According to a source, "the Duke and Duchess have sent a personal note of congratulations to Barack Obama on his US re-election."
Another royal who's a fan of the first couple is Queen Elizabeth, who "gets on well with Mr. Obama and his wife." A palace insider said, "Her Majesty is pleased with the election result."
The congratulatory note doesn't seem to just be perfunctory on the royal couple's part. They've spent time with the Obamas on several occasions and, at least from the looks of the photos, have enjoyed each other's company. As representatives of their country who regularly meets with world leaders, Prince William and Kate Middleton undoubtedly spend a lot of time talking politics around the dinner time. While the public will probably never know their personal political opinions since they're supposed to be apolitical, their personal congrats note makes it quite clear where they stand on the political spectrum.
