The Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breakup seems more or less official now after weeks and weeks of rumors, with conflicting buzz swirling that busy schedules or, more scandalously, relationship-killing jealousy sounded the death knell for Jelena. Bieber has already been living it up as a single man, hanging out with Victoria's Secret supermodels, and Gomez is apparently getting along quite well with her Wizards of Waverly Place cutie co-star, Gregg Sulkin. But she's also attracting the attention of none other than Robert Pattinson.
In a rather long-winded spiel with Premiere magazine, Pattinson had this to say about the current state of the film industry and why he loves Gomez's risque new flick, Spring Breakers, which also stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson.
"Today I feel that the Hollywood industry has only one goal: to force you to make bad movies. The studio transforms everything it touches into a disaster. ...There is a group of directors who resist... It is a miracle that they can survive. I think of people like Harmony Korine that I think are incredible. He showed me his new film Spring Breakers this summer, and I loved it," the Breaking Dawn actor said, as Hollywood Life reports.
Pattinson obviously feels very passionate about his craft, as the actor respects the integrity of a well-made movie and has long admitted the fear of being stuck in the Twilight zone forever. He's since broken the vampire mold, though, with films like Cosmopolis, as has his on-again girlfriend and Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart, with On The Road and Snow White and the Huntsman.
Robert Pattinson also made a pretty bold projection about Selena Gomez's upcoming S.B. flick. "...I think it will be a great success. And I want to work with directors like [Harmony], people who spend their lives refusing to accept certain things. If you look closely it is they who have the most enduring careers."
