Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne have passionate fans who like to show the guys that they're sexy, mature women by throwing bras and panties at them. However, sometimes some Directioners go a little too far trying to convince One Direction that they're not pre-puberty tweens.
For some reason fans have taken to tossing tampons at the guys, which is a very odd way to get their attention—it lets them know that it's that time of the month, and most men do whatever they can to avoid women during visits from Aunt Flo. Girls might see tampons as awesome inventions that make life easier, but they're always going to be gross to guys.
But according to Zayn Malik, his close encounters with feminine hygiene products are getting more frequent, and it's not because Perrie Edwards has started keeping a box of tampons stashed at his place—now fans have also started using sanitary towels to get One Direction's attention, and they're getting creative with the way that they use them. According to Sugarscape, here's what one fan did to make sure that 1D will forever remember her name:
"Once we were in Liverpool doing a radio tour and when we pulled up in the car park underneath the radio station we noticed that someone had stuck a sanitary towel with her name on it on the side of the car!"
Hopefully it wasn't used.
Fangirls certainly have odd ways of thinking. In her mind, sticking that towel to the side of car must have seemed ingenious—it would force Zayn, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne would think of her for a moment. But why would a fan want the guys thinking that she's a freak? The move obviously didn't impress Mr. Malik, who went on to say this:
"It certainly got our attention but we probably wouldn't want anyone doing that again."
So if Directioners want to get the guys to notice them, it's probably best to stick to creating signs that say dirty things. However, it would be hilarious if Perrie Edwards gave Zayn a pair of those funny slippers fashioned out of sanitary towels as a Christmas gag gift. If she doesn't, a fan probably will.
