Derek Hough needs surgery. The Dancing with the Stars pro has revealed that the herniated disk in his neck has been plaguing him and while he is dealing with the discomfort for the time being, he is going to need to have surgery to correct it. For now, Hough plans on dancing on with his all-star season partner, Shawn Johnson.
"Eventually, when I have time off I'll have to get surgery but until then I'm gonna push on and dance through the pain and discomfort," he said on his website on Monday. He added that the slightest "wrong move" can have him back in agony.
Derek Hough has said that this will be his last season of Dancing with the Stars. He has taken some time off in the past, but he really seems to want to take his career in a different direction. Hough isn't taking time off because of his injury, but it won't be surprising to hear that he is going to have the surgery right away. It's not fun to be in pain and he likely wants to get it over with. Hopefully he makes it through the rest of the season with minimal pain.
