Both Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner spoke about the end of the Twilight franchise in the midst of participating in one of the final premieres for the highly successful cinematic spin off series.
In a recent interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, KStew talked about saying goodbye to the franchise, stating, "We have this really nice send-off," adding, "So for anyone who doesn't want it to be over, twist that knife. It really just doesn't make it easy." It was a characteristically difficult to follow statement from the 22-year-old vampire seductress, but it was easy to see just how reluctant and maybe even sad she was concerning the end of the character that made her a star (and, of course, introduced her to her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson).
As for Taylor Lautner, the Twilight series' Jacob Black, the already nostalgic feeling regarding the franchise's finale was made even more manifest: "I love Jacob," Taylor said. "I really respect him in so many different ways. He has so many qualities to him that I would love to bring with me. He is going to be a tough character to say goodbye to, for sure."
Whatever your feelings regarding Twilight and the whole wolf versus vampire thing that has been going on for the past couple of years in Hollywood, most everyone can agree that it is probably time for the cast, including Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, to call it quits and move on toward other projects. Heaven forbid any of them start getting typecasted for pseudo-horror flicks like better looking Bela Lugosis and Lon Chaney, Juniors.
"Breaking Dawn-Part 2" is set to officially hit theaters on November 16th, but eager Twi-hards can catch 10 p.m. screenings on November 15th, where available.
