Kristen Stewart wore a see-through gown by designer Zuhair Murad at The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles on Nov. 12, 2012. Was the fashion choice for the now infamous mistress a sleazy fashion choice or brilliant PR move for the now infamous actress who cheated on her hot costar boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her very-married film director from another movie project? Right now, the only thing that is certain is she seems to be proud of the celebrity oops moment.
No Hollywood icon has gotten more well-deserved negative publicity in recent history than the teen idol. Photographed having an affair with a married director, she's actually taken more flack for cheating on her famous boyfriend than she has for being a basically unapologetic homewrecker.
They did break up for a while, but the twenty-something celebrity couple seem to have romantically reunited (if only for the best interest of the movie franchise). (Special guest appearances with Peter Facinelli as her stand-in celebrity replacement on the red carpet simply did not seem to be cutting it despite the presence of adorable Taylor Lautner and bizarre-looking but always charismatic RPatz.)
Did her publicity team push the envelope too far by having her dress in an incredibly mature evening gown to make one of her most recent Twi-hard galas? Wearing a nude colored gown with see-thorough lace insets might have shown off her figure to adult men, but it also makes her look trashy in the eyes of any woman who felt bad for the wife of Rupert Sanders after finding out that KStew was most likely sleeping with him.
The problem with dressing her like a sophisticated sex symbol is the movie series is, ultimately, a favorite of young teens. She's a style and trendsetter who has made the drugged out, super thin, and half-dressed model look trendy.
While she looks ridiculous wearing six-inch stiletto heels and mile-high mini skirts to places like the MTV Movie Awards, there she appears to be dressing too old for her age but doing it on her own time. Representing the Twilight franchise, she looks like a wayward teen playing dress-up doll -- glamorous, but dressed totally inappropriately for the social occasion.
Was the PR move a brilliant one aimed to make parents who have read about the celebrity sex scandal realize she is no longer a teen or was the fashion statement more about her own PR team confirming to everyone that the actress is destined to play only lame-duck sex sirens in future movies?
Check out the photos of Kristen Stewart in her see-through dress here. Notice that not only is the gown in a color that is nearly matched with her skin tone, but it also has sheer panels of lace mixed in with see-through fabric.
Very revealing, the dress leaves little to the imagination for anyone who saw her. Noting her new obsession with much older men, it is not a surprise that she appears to be dressing to attract their attention.
What do you think, readers? Do you think she dressed far too sexy to comfortably be promoting a teen scene movie? Let other readers know your thoughts in the comments section below.
