Remember when Taylor Swift was so head over heels in love with Conor Kennedy? And then suddenly she wasn't? One minute she was dreaming of a lavish wedding and picking out baby names suitable for the spawn of a country music superstar and the scion of American royalty. And then she suddenly kicked him to the curb, leaving the world totally bewildered. What happened? Well, there's an answer to that too, and that answer is: Nothing. The Swift/Kennedy split was a hoax concocted by Taylor herself to get Conor's family off their backs. And it seems to be working.
According to sources, the Taylor/Conor breakup was a fake. La Swift came up with a plan to leak a story "through friends and business contacts" that she and young Conor had gone their separate ways. They're planning to get back together for a secret romantic holiday later on.
"Taylor and Conor are pretending to everyone that they've split up," explains an inside source, "and so far they've done a really good job of convincing friends - and even the press - that it's true. The lovers hatched the scheme because the Kennedys were putting huge pressure on Conor, saying he needs to concentrate on getting through high school and into a top college. The family feared Taylor's jet-set lifestyle would divert his focus from education - and were literally worried sick the couple might even elope."
Actually, it was a pretty good plan. And their timing coincided perfectly with Swift's new tour to promote her new album, "Red." It looks as if Taylor is throwing herself into her work to cope with the breakup, while Conor is, much to his relatives' relief, throwing himself into his studies.
"Taylor and Conor are still totally in communication," tattled the source. "They just want everyone to forget about them. Meanwhile, they're planning a secret romantic rendezvous as soon as Conor's on school break."
Although this story was reported by the National Enquirer, it actually makes a lot of sense. Immediately after their sudden split, it was rumored that their so-called breakup was more like a temporary break. There was even speculation about their being friends with benefits.
So, there you have it. Do you think Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy are now truly a non couple, or have they just punk'd the world?
