Breaking Dawn Part 2 opened nationwide in U.S. theaters on Friday to mixed reviews and big box office numbers, and Twihards got a good look at some very grown up Twilight actors. Now they can take a glimpse back at the very first film and marvel at their growth throughout the past four years.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, that growth isn't simply measured in physical attributes, but in character development and acting skills as well.
Kristen Stewart was initially painfully shy--even in her role as Bella Swan. It was the perfect fit for the socially awkward actress who hated dressing up for red carpet events. Now she presents herself as a far more mature and outgoing actress (yes, the shyness still lingers but isn't nearly as prevalent) who rocks haute couture on the red carpet and even keeps her heels on instead of swapping them out for sneakers. Her character grew, too, throughout the years, from a teenager to a young wife and mother who, by this last film, transformed into a vampire.
Robert Pattinson has never had a lot to say. Not quite as shy as Kristen--he simply doesn't like talking about himself. His physical transformation has gone from handsome to hunk in four years and his character, Edward Cullen, became a husband, father and great protector.
Taylor Lautner was drop-dead gorgeous when Twilight started and is even more so now. His character Jacob Black went from a radically furry werewolf to that of a dedicated confidante and close family friend. Lautner hasn't experienced the luck in the film world that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have found outside the Twilight realm, but he is also very young and has years of opportunities ahead of him.
