Remember the viral video that showed a slew of clips of Robert Pattinson viciously dissing the Twilight Saga? You know, the film series that made him and his girlfriend Kristen Stewart rich and famous. Well, maybe he should have kept his mouth shut. Twilight has just been named the Worst Movie Ever Made. Ouch. Happy now, RPattz?
Yes, according to a new fan poll, Twilight has won the decidedly undesirable title of "the worst movie of all time...with over 500,000 votes." And Rob's and Kristen's career-making opus had to beat out some stiff competition to garner the uncoveted award. The duds—er—unfortunate films that trailed Twilight on the list of the ten worst movies included Spider-Man 3, Catwoman, Jack and Jill, and Battlefield Earth." However, "Twilight nabbed the top spot." Or bottom spot. Whatever. It was voted the "lousiest." How embarrassing. Of course, it's also the height of irony since "the franchise has grossed over $1.3 billion dollars worldwide." So far! Although the new poll proves that "not everyone has warm and fuzzy feelings about the immortal love story," the people who do are apparently willing to shell out big bucks to see it. And they obviously don't care who hates it—even when one of those haters is their iconic Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson.
And getting back to the Cosmopolis man, wonder how he feels about the new anti-honor recently bestowed upon his admittedly unappreciated opus? Is he indignant, embarrassed, or amused? Or did he even notice, let alone care?
Interestingly, his much maligned lady-love never seemed to feel quite the same sort of disdain for the franchise that made her the highest paid actress in the world.
"I doubt people will stop asking us about Twilight," mused KStew in a recent interview. "And hopefully not. Hopefully this is something we are able to hold onto forever."
Oh well, you can watch Rob dissing Twilight on the video below. Did it deserve to win the title of Worst Movie Ever? What do you think?
