Alexia Echevarria's on Peter Rosello was caught up in a bum-punching scandal earlier this year after he attacked a homeless man in Miami and then posted a video of it all on his YouTube page. While what he did was a serious hate crime, the Real Housewives of Miami kid has managed to avoid jail time.
Gossip Extra reports that Peter entered into a pre-trial diversion program which has been designed for first-time offenders. "If he completes the six-month program designed to keep first-time offenders out of the system," the site reports, "his case will be dismissed and record sealed." This program will give Peter a chance to avoid jail and his felony charges which is a great opportunity for him to redeem himself from his crime.
As part of the program, Peter must write a letter of apology to the man he attacked, perform 100 hours of community service in a homeless shelter, contribute $1,000 to the victims assistance fund, complete a class on social values, and pay the yet-to-be-determined investigative costs. It may seem like a lot but Peter is getting off easy. To attack a sleeping man for his own entertainment is despicable and if he wasn't a first-time offender, he likely would have had to spend several months behind bars for what he did. Hopefully, he's appreciative of his second chance and will learn a valuable lesson.
