Prince Harry has come under direct fire from the Taliban (figuratively, of course) for recently having spoken out about killing Taliban insurgents during his tour of duty. It seems he raised the ire of the Taliban by saying that killing insurgents was akin to playing a video game.
According to a report from Yahoo, Harry made the claim during an interview with the BBC that aired on Monday.
"It's a joy for me because I'm one of those people who loves playing PlayStation and Xbox," he said regarding the shootings. "So with my thumbs I like to think I'm probably quite useful."
The comment didn't sit well with Taliban officials.
"This statement is not even worth condemning. It is worse than that," Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman said.. "To describe the war in Afghanistan as a game demeans anyone—especially a prince, who is supposed to be made of better things."
Harry confirmed during the BBC interview that he had, in fact, killed Taliban members.
"Yeah, so lots of people have," Harry said. "The squadron's been out here. Everyone's fired a certain amount."
"It shows the lack of understanding, of knowledge. It shows they are unfamiliar with the situation and shows why they are losing. ... It's not a game. It's very, very real," Mujahid says.
Sharifullah Kamawal is a member of the Afghan parliament, and he fears the prince's comments could actually disrupt the relationship that has grown between solders and the locals.
"This makes the withdrawal process much faster, because for now half of the people say the foreign forces must stay for longer," Kamawal said. "But if they say these kind of things, then more people will want them to go home."
Do you think Prince Harry made a grave mistake in being as seemingly callous as he was with his comments during the BBC interview? Do you suppose he has in some way put his own life--as well as those of his fellow soldiers--in even more danger by angering the Taliban?
Perhaps Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles need to have a word with the prince and impress upon him the problem he may have created by so openly speaking his mind. Harry is admittedly excited over Kate Middleton and Prince William's pregnancy and says he can't wait to be an uncle. It's imperative he stay alive, however, in order to do so.

He is serving in a hostile environment where death is just around the next corner and as such in situations like that we often joke with one another we make silly comments it helps to take the edge of what we have to do and contrary to what people think its never an easy task to bring death and destruction to another human being no matter who they are. Its his way of trying to come to terms with what has to be done to somehow play it like a game because believe me you never ever forget what you have done you can live until you are a 100 years of age but its always there in the back of your mind.
Your enemy is what they are your enemy it does not matter if you rile them they want to kill you and you have to kill them and in any case I always liked to rile my country's enemy's they begin to make mistakes and it makes your job easy.
