Rihanna talks Chris Brown's 2009 assault and what she claims is the real reason she left the Don't Wake Me Up singer.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Rihanna and Breezy will appear together at the Grammy Awards on February 10th, and that day marks the fourth year anniversary of his assault on her. It took place at a pre-Grammy Awards party.
So why did Rihanna leave him? One would expect it's because he hit her.
"I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me," Rihanna says in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, "To feel the consequences of that."
The Diamonds singer admits that her love for Chris didn't ever really go away and after a while it returned with a vengeance.
"'When that sh*t came back' — meaning love — 'It hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you've got to be kidding me right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn't bury the way I felt,'" she explains.
It almost sounds like Rihanna is as dysfunctional as Chris Brown. When a woman allows a man to abuse her she needs as much help as the abuser himself. It's really sad that she still hasn't come to terms with the fact that he committed a serious crime against her. No woman in her right mind would want to get back together with someone who harmed her.
This also means that Karrueche Tran's emotional and mental well being deserves a good hard look as well. Even though she knows about the assault she either doesn't believe Rihanna's side of the story or is hanging on whatever version Breezy is telling her. It's an unhealthy foundation upon which to establish a relationship--whether he winds up with Rihanna or Karrueche Tran.
Do you think either of these women will ever see the light and give up on Chris for good?
