Chris Brown's car was reportedly totaled on Saturday in a car crash caused by two members of the paparazzi. Was the "Don't Wake Me Up" singer injured?
According to a report from TMZ, Brown was en route to a charity event. He was driving his car when two vehicles cut him off.
A rep for Breezy claims "the occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles."
"Chris' vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay," the rep adds.
Can you imagine how upset fans would be had Chris been injured and unable to appear at the Grammy Awards on Sunday? Many of those fans will line the red carpet area early in hopes of getting a glimpse of Breezy with his date for the evening, Rihanna.
Of course everyone is happy to know Chris wasn't injured—but certainly could have been. This is yet another case of the paparazzi intruding to a very dangerous level. A member of the paparazzi trying to catch a good shot of Justin Bieber was killed recently. It was determined afterward that it wasn't even Bieber in the car.
Beverly Hills police have confirmed this report, but aren't providing any additional details.
Miley Cyrus spoke out recently about the dangers posed by the paparazzi. Don't you think it's time local and state government got in on it, too, and proposed some laws that might prevent such accidents from happening? Chris Brown's car crash on Saturday is just one more example of the dangers facing celebrities because of their hot pursuits.
