Ziva David will soon be replaced by a character named Bishop on NCIS, as Cote de Pablo is replaced by Emily Wickersham. Ziva will say goodbye to Tony DiNozzo in a heart wrenching farewell on Tuesday night.
According to a report from Headlines & Global News, most fans hate the thought of Ziva leaving, but in order to remain true to Mark Harmon (Jethro Gibbs), Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) and the rest of the NCIS cast, they must prepare themselves for the arrival of Bishop.
Will Bishop take up where Ziva left off—in the arms of Tony DiNozzo?
"I don't think there's any chance of Bishop being involved in that in any way. If anything, she would be deeply, deeply off-limits for him," Michael Weatherly said in a recent interview. "It won't even enter his brain — and that's another thing. I think she's going to be very attractive, but I just don't think DiNozzo will see her like that for even a heartbeat. I think there's a level of maturity for him. He's averse to anyone who would sit at that desk, I think."
Oh, no. That means fans will have to see this new character sitting where Ziva sat for so many seasons. This isn't going to be fun, is it? Still Weatherly and the rest of the cast is optimistic about her coming on board at NCIS.
"We're excited about is having Emily join us on these little adventures we do every week and seeing how she is in the world that we create together," Weatherly said. "I hope the audience likes her as much as we did right away."
The audience will no doubt try. But she isn't Cote de Pablo and she won't replace Ziva David in anyone's hearts or minds, even if she does sit at Ziva's desk.
Are you ready for Ziva to be replaced by Bishop? Will you watch Cote de Pablo's tearful farewell to NCIS and to Tony DiNozzo on Tuesday night?
